Your bioenergy project!

If you have a waste stream you may be able to set up your own bioenergy project that will meet your energy requirements and lower your costs.

Any organic waste such as manure, food waste, crop residue, green waste, waste grain and wood chips has the potential to produce bioenergy.

Your waste

Your waste can be converted to energy by either thermal conversion processes like pyrolysis and gasification or by microbial  action in the anaerobic digestion (AD) process.

Outputs of both can be used to produce energy in the form of heat and/or electricity. This energy can be used on farm or to run your operation any excess energy can be sold into the grid.

Valuable by-products such as biochar and digestate (a by-product of AD) contain nutrients and can be used as soil conditioners or to replace traditional fossil based fertilisers.

You may also be eligible to produce Renewable Energy Certificates and carbon credits under the Federal Governments Carbon Farming Initiative.

What we need to know

Energy Farmers specialises in the development of bioenergy and waste to energy projects. To determine if your waste stream is suitable and how we can help you, we need to know more about your operation. Information such as;

  • Your current energy use
  • heating/cooling requirements
  • water and nutrient requirements
  • the amounts and types of waste you produce

are all important elements to understand when scoping and developing the project.

Building a business case

Once we have that information we can begin to build a business case and start designing a system that will recover the energy from your waste and use it in the most effective way to meet your needs.

Our business model is based on a cooperative approach, we partner with you to share the risks and the benefits of the project, this ensures we keep the costs to  minimum and maximise returns.

Lets get the ball rolling
